Solutions to Broken, Cracked, or Missing Teeth

Chipping or cracking a tooth is a dental emergency. Anything that weakens the structure of your tooth needs to be addressed quickly. Losing a tooth is also serious and has long-term effects on your life. Thankfully, we have lots of solutions to these problems:

Breaks, Chips & Cracks

You can damage a tooth in a few ways. Sometimes, the break, chip, or crack is obvious. If it’s minor, you may experience some symptoms like increased temperature sensitivity or pain when you chew. As soon as you suspect something is wrong, please contact us. A dental crown is a common solution. These caps fit on any severely-weakened tooth and prevent further harm. For some breaks and cracks, veneers can be an option. These are a permanent solution and are also used for issues like uneven teeth, overlapping teeth, or teeth with worn enamel.

Missing Teeth

We offer three main solutions for missing teeth: bridges, dentures, and implants. A bridge is a prosthesis with dental crowns that holds replacement teeth in place. There are traditional bridges and implant-supported bridges. If you’re missing a row of teeth, dentures are a popular solution. Partial dentures replace a few missing teeth. Either adhesive or implants hold dentures in place.

Implants can be used for both bridges and dentures, but they are a tooth replacement option on their own. We’ll place a titanium post in your jawbone, where it fuses as it heals. The implant serves as an anchor for bridges, dentures, or a crown, if you’re replacing an individual tooth. The benefit of implants is that they replace the root of a missing tooth, protecting your jawbone from shrinking.
